Spring Blog Break

It appears I forgot to keep the blog updated for the last 3 or so months.  Ooops. 

So for today, more pictures, less words, of what’s been going on around here all spring. 

We had way too much snow!

We hosted the cousins for a few days of Camp Cornell!

We had a lovely Easter out here with lots of friends from church!

 

We got to hang out with Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Cornell for a day or two. 

I’ve designated this spot the obligatory picture spot.  My boys now know what to do when I say “go to the picture spot!”

A few weekends ago we surprised the boys with a trip to Great Wolf Lodge.  Every time we walked by this bear, Cash said it was his best friend and demanded I take his picture with it.  Weird.

Does anyone else need to have a mid-day alarm on their phone?  Once or twice an afternoon nap has gotten the best of me and I almost slept though the whole pick-your-kid-up-from-school thing. 

Big brother reading to Batman.  I love it, however, a little piece of me hates that I have kids that are old enough read.  Just doesn’t feel right.

Pre-game Prayer

This last weekend was Jagger’s last basketball game. 

The season went well.  Most of the time it was pretty fun to watch. And by fun, I mean, let’s laugh at the kids because they have no idea how to play basketball. I’m kidding….. No, I’m not.

The Stone Saga

The good news is the guys laying the stone on our house are done!

The bad news is we are going to rip it all of. 

Yep.  Crappy, huh?

The truth is, the workers did a terrible job, were under-qualified, and it’s our fault for not seeing the red flags all along.

We were just too hopeful and didn’t want to face the reality. 

It’s a frustrating and expensive mistake, but we’re almost able to laugh about it. 

So for a little while longer, our house is going to look like a train wreck.  I’m just thankful we are far enough back off the road that our neighbors can’t see how we’re really trashing up the hood.  Yep, we’re those neighbors.

Project: Organize those Christmas Cards

I don’t know what ya’ll do with Christmas cards, letters and pictures from years past, but I just found I new way to keep them together and organized.  A hole-punch, a ring, and a piece of cardstock with the year on it was all it took.  I store them with my Christmas stuff, so every year at the beginning of the season we can reminisce and see how all our friends have grown. (How the children have grown, that is.  I won’t keep track of how the adults have grown sideways if you promise to do the same for me.)
