Broccomole

 

Pretty much, I LOVE guacamole.  When it’s fresh, and chunky, and spicy, it’s pretty much my most favorite thing ever. 

So when I heard about Broccomole, the broccoli version of this Mexican side, I was skeptical.  Because, uh, why mess with perfection?

But I tried this recipe, linked above, and thought it was great!  It’s not the exact same as the guac I love, but it’s a great twist on it.  And it’s like 1/3 of the calories or something like that.  Which means, HELLO, I can eat THREE times more! 

So that’s my exciting news for the day.  Just thought I would share.  I know at least a couple of my readers love them some guac.  Happy eating!

Halloween Pics

We kept things super low key this year. 

I guess we always do, actually.

Jagger used his same costume from last year (the scream ghost) but just upgraded his mask to some blue alienish/ghost dude.

And Cash is pretty much Spiderman everyday of the year, so Halloween was really no different.

But we had fun with our fellow superheroes.

And we got good loot. I trained them to go for the Reese’s… and they obeyed!

That’s What He Said

Cash - “Mom, Georgia Jane is 4.  And I am 5.  And how old are you?”

Me - “I’m 30.”

Cash - “And next time what will you be?”

Me - “Next year I will be 31.”

Cash, with huge eyes - “And then you will die!?!?”

 

Wha-wha.  Hopefully I’ve got some time between 31 and death, but I guess you can’t be sure. 

Here’s this little booger’s first day of school picture.  It’s our last year at this little magical school.  Tear.

Party Time

It was a fun Friday night at our house.

 

And by fun, I mean loud, messy, hectic, etc. etc.

The boys celebrated number 7 and 5, Star Wars style,

Complete with 15 Jedi friends, light sabers, and an appearance by Darth Vader.

A thunderstorm coming through town threatened to ruin all our fun.  But luckily it passed just in time for us to enjoy the mud outside.

 

I didn’t realize what a huge hit the potato sacks would be.  The kids loved them.

No presents for the kids this time.  Just lots of generosity from their friends to help out our food pantry at church.

Birthday Boys

It’s been a whole-nuther year.  The boys are now 5 and 7.

Jaggy started his 7th year with this birthday treat.  It was a brownie, marshmallow, frosting combination.  After he went to school, I realized his teacher was probably about to hate me. 

He braves the driveway on his new wheels. 

A couple days later it was Cash’s turn.

This is his kind of cake. 

He likes to be called Mikey now.  Ya know, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, duh.

Oh my sweet little crazy boys.  One day they are babies, the next they are ninjas.
